The Advent of Solstice

Updated: Mar 12, 2021

Advent Calendars usually count down the days from the first of December to Christmas. Here at Solitaire Times we love opening a paper window every day to discover the little gift hiding behind, so we decided to adapt this idea.

Days in Europe are getting shorter and darker. And it's cold. The Winter Solstice is the darkest day of the year, associated with old pagan rituals and traditions. Fun as it sounds, we are not going to light fires and sacrifice animals in the name of Odin but, to warm our hearts, we will count down to Solstice with a daily thematic post.

We've put some seasonal music on, got all the winter-themed games we own off the shelves, and switched on our printers. The countdown begins tomorrow.

December will be magic again.
