Universal Rule: Singularity (plus solo AI) is live
Button Shy Games has launched a standalone expansion to the 3-5 players game, Universal Rule, called Universal Rule: Singularity. Along with the expansion comes a solo AI deck that you may use to play with either the base game or any of the Universal Rule expansions. The Kickstarter campaign will run for 10 days.
Universal Rule is a 4X game in which players compete for control of planets. You colonize new planets, gain resources and attack other planets to secure your dominance. The game consists of 18 cards, and players have to provide their own tokens and coins. The Singularity expansion adds new planets to colonize and exploit.
The solo AI is a deck of 5 cards. Each turn, it will perform one of five actions, depending on the state of the game. You either win by gathering more victory points than the AI when the deck runs out, or by colonizing your fifth planet before the AI gets a chance to do so.
You have the option to get the game as a PnP, or any Universal Rule game plus the solo AI, or all the Universal Rules. A playmat is offered as an add-on, as well as the solitaire game SpaceShipped.
