Oathsworn: Into the Deepwood is a 1-4 player cooperative storytelling adventure game, scheduled to launch on Kickstarter on October 8.
In this game, you take control of a group of characters (the Free Company) and carry out quests both inside the walls of a city, and outside, in the enchanted forest that surrounds it. The city part of the game works according to a specific narrative that you have to follow through. Lord Mormont from Game of Thrones (actor James Cosmo) has taken leave from the Night's Watch to read you the story, and ask you to make choices on the app (there is a storybook if you prefer to avoid the tech).
As you travel from location to location on the city map, you will have to perform skill checks, and eventually exit the city to meet the first big enemy, the Broodmother: a giant rat with rat babies on and around her. Checks and combat are resolved either by flipping cards or rolling dice or a combination of both. The game is played as a campaign consisting of 15 chapters.
You may choose to back the basic version with six heroes minis and 52 enemy standees, or get the full minis version which you can further enrich with plastic terrain. Check the Kickstarter Preview for more details. Rolling Solo has filmed a playthrough:
