Tiny Battle Publishing is now taking pre-orders for Mike Mollineaux's Rogue State.
This is a solitaire game in which the player acts as the Supreme Leader of North Korea. The goal is for the regime to survive from 1953 to 2030, but you also need to do well in Juche points. That is, fulfill the vision of Kim Il-sung and ensure that the country is independent and self-sufficient. In order to do that, you have to handle well the four pillars of the state: Military strength, Industrial development, Nuclear power, and National Pride.
The game began its life as a Print-and-Play (and it is still available as such), but the designer has modified the published version to add more decisions and strategic depth, include more event cards, and make it more challenging. The player will have to manage the financial budget (and debt), forge diplomatic relations, make sure that the Ministers are loyal, build nuclear weapons, and threaten to use them.
