Open Ocean is live
Open Ocean is a 1-5 player tile laying game about building and populating a reef. It is now live on Kickstarter, and the campaign will run for 30 days. You may order the standard or the signed limited edition that includes 9 art prints. There is also a PnP option.
In the solo mode of Open Ocean, you first remove the Dolphin tiles, then shuffle and deal yourself a hand of 9 tiles. 8 tiles are placed in the middle to form the ocean. You also randomly set three Habitat goals as the goals you have to achieve during the game.
On each round, you select one tile from your hand, place it in your reef, and perform its action. This means you will be able to attract fish from the ocean. Then, you discard one tile from your hand, discard another tile from the ocean, and replenish the ocean with a new one from the stack. When you complete a Habitat goal, you remove it and reveal a new one. The round ends when you have played and discarded all tiles from your hand. The game ends after three rounds, at which point you check how many goals you have completed.
