In Cardweaver, you are playing as heroes (the Anima) who have the power of using their dreams to stop the Nightmares. The setting is the same as that of The Shared Dream, the company's previous game. Each hero has their own deck of cards, and each Nemesis has a unique deck too. In the solo mode, the Nemesis will play one card from their deck each turn.
At the beginning of the game, the player will take five (it may be three in solo, I'm not sure) cards from the Anima deck and flip them over on the Dreamscape area (at the centre of the table): this will be the market. The player will also have a second deck of cards of which they will draw five cards to form their starting hand. Cards from their hand will be used to purchase cards from the market. Cards can also be used to attack the Nemesis. As the game progresses, the player will gain experience points which will give them access to more powerful abilities of the Anima cards they get. The solo variant also uses countdown tokens on the cards that enter the Dreamscape area: when the tokens are removed, the card enters play and then gets discarded. You win the game when the Nemesis is defeated.
The game is available for free as a PnP at PnP Arcade for a limited time.
