Watch your Back: Week September 4 to 10
September has started and we're back in business. Vacation's over, it was very nice, thank you. I am already looking forward to the next one. But first, let's have a look at this week's campaigns. First three small card games, then one with over 1700 cards. Or, at least, over 1700 sleeves in the all-in bundle.

Tactical skirmish game Battlecrest will return with a new base game (Metronn) and some expansions. The solo expansion Imperator II is one of them, it provides AI reactions for all included heroes.
This wallet game is launching on Kickstarter on September 6.
Personal opinion: I usually skip ButtonShy campaigns because of shipping to Europe and VAT. It will eventually be available at PnP Arcade anyway. Less professionaly printed of course and it's bring-your-own-wallet then, but still - the better option for me.

Next. In Unreliable Wizard you will set out to destroy the Demon Lord and rescue the Princess. This solo card game is launching on Gamefound on September 5.
Personal opinion: Bleh. Tropey McTropeFace. I wish you would destroy the Princess and rescue the Demon Lord for a change. But wait. It is called "unreliable" wizard... Oh! Ah hah.
***
Then the third card game, Bloodsport Gambler, will have you betting, bluffing, cheating and dice rolling to save your life. It features cool illustrations, as expected from Dungeon Degenerates co-designer/illustrator Eric Radey. It is launching on Kickstarter on September 5.
Personal opinion: It sounds fun, but am curious how the solo mode turns out. Also I wouldn't be surprised if it was unaffordable for us Europeans. But, I'll absolutely check this one out.

Narrative adventure game The Isofarian Guard will be available again for a short while, with a pack of new event cards and updated books. And, like I said, tons of sleeves.
An update pack can be purchased by returning backers. The reprint campaign is launching on Gamefound on September 5 and the game will not become available in retail.
Personal opinion: Can't afford it, so I haven't looked into it. Sorry.

SF adventure game Rogue Angels has already launched on Kickstarter earlier today. And also in February last year, as this is a relaunch. It's a solo/coop narrative campaign, featuring tactical combat and stuff. More about it in a separate post later this week, as it will be...
Personal opinion: my Solitaire Select for September.
***
Pugly Pirates has you playing as a pirate dog and promises some good puns to go with your adventuring, trading and, well, pirating. Procol Harum would be so proud.
Explore for resources, sell them for bones, then bury these to receive upgrades or to work towards win conditions. It will be let out on Kickstarter on September 5. Woof. Woof woof woof.
Personal opinion: I don't like puns.

Misty Waters: At the Edge of World is an exploration and adventuring game in the Age of Sail. You'll build a personal deck of action cards during the game, and several event decks keep the happenings varied from game to game.
The game is fully soloable. You can't play as a pirate (or as a dog, for that matter), but you may be attacked by some. Then there are sea monsters, trapped chests and you will probably meet some shady characters in the taverns while navigating the archipelago. It is launching on Gamefound on September 9.
Personal opinion: Oh, it's postponed! You can see how rusty I am at writing these announcements. Nothing to see here. Guess we'll hear Athena's opinion three months from now then 😀
Let me play you A Salty Dog while we're waiting:
Maybe it's my head hurting, maybe it's the sun burn, but I don't see anything of interest for me personally.
Also sorry for the lack of my overviews, I'm fighting some cold that makes my head hurt. I'll write again when I'm out of this nightmare.
The great and mighty Evan made an unfortunate error in his Prelaunched crowdfunding list (of course he can afford it, he's doing such a great work already), and it got carried over in the spreadsheet we are compiling, and from there in JW's post...
Well, Misty Waters won't launch on September 9. September 9 was the "reveal" date of the pledge prices. The actual launch date is November 10.
My apologies for the mistake.
Unreliable Wizard is a definite go for me. I'm collecting pretty much all the travel-sized dungeon crawlers that pop up on KS (and that remain affordable for poor us Europeans). And this one is definitely on the affordable side of the spectrum.
Bloodsport Gambler is pricey, but I'll look into it more. I'm pretty sure it will be a pass based on the extra fees.
I feel forced to get the upgrade pack for The Isofarian Guard. It's less of a good deal than it initially was, I feel it's a bit of a high price tag for the original backers. Basically 60€ more. But it would be dumb not to get it, right?
I stand corrected, it's "over 1700+ sleeves". Which is an amazingly extra much bigger amount.
