Fox Matters is live (Solve problems in a foxy way)
Update: Fox Matters is live on Kickstarter and the campaign will run for 15 days. You may back either the minis or the non-minis version.
Our preview post below was published on October 17.
Fox Matters is a 1-5 player real time cooperative game in which a team of fox knights is called forth by the king to rid the fox kingdom of nightmares. It will launch on Kickstarter on October 19.
In Fox Matters, you will first choose your fox knight -each one has a special ability- and lay down the common problems and complicated problems cards. Common problems may be, for example, dirty laundry, cold tea, a chewed up pencil or a broken mug. On each round, one of the complicated problems will be combined with a common problem which means that it will be more difficult to solve. You have to deal with all the problems within 6 rounds, or else the kingdom is consumed by the nightmare.
To solve these problems, you will first perform the Planning and then the Action phase. Each problem has a symbol requirement, e.g. the chewed up pencil can only be solved if you play 3 symbols, two of which must be a crown and a bundle. In the Planning phase, you decide which fox knight to send to which problem and if you are going to use their abilities. Then, in the Action phase, you set the timer to 2 minutes and play cards from your hand trying to match the symbols to solve the problems. Any problem that remains unsolved when the time runs out, receives a fear token. If there ever are 3 fear tokens underneath a problem, you lose the game.
