Project L: Finesse is live (Refine your puzzle strategy)

Update: Project L: Finesse is live on Kickstarter and the campaign will run for 17 days. You may back just this expansion and the revised rulebook if you already have the base game, or get the reprint of Project L with one (Finesse) or two (Finesse and Ghost Piece) expansions.

Our preview post below was published on October 9.

Project L: Finesse is an expansion to the 1-4 player abstract strategy polyomino game Project L. It will launch on Kickstarter on October 12.

In the solo mode of the base game, you compete against an artificial opponent. You will first compile a stack of puzzle cards and lay 9 of them in a 3x3 grid. On each round, you have 4 actions available: pick one puzzle card to add to your player board, take a new polyomino piece from the reserve, place one of your polyomino pieces on anyone of your puzzles, or place one polyomino piece in each of your puzzles. At first, the AI cannot take puzzle cards from the grid because they are 'locked' but it eventually removes lock pieces and takes the highest scoring cards. You win the game if you manage to score higher than the AI at the end.

The upcoming expansion adds scoring goal cards that give you Credits when you complete them. You can then spend your Credits to do more actions during your turn. The Kickstarter campaign will also be for the reprint of the base game and its original expansions.
