Dinosaur 1944 is live (Letters from Kyoryu Jima)
Update: Dinosaur 1944 has launched on Kickstarter and the campaign will run for 11 days. You may back a copy of the game or pay to go on vacation with Sandy Petersen.
Our preview post below was published on June 13.
Dinosaur 1944 is a 1-4 player cooperative adventure game in which a team of soldiers fights against dinosaurs that mad scientists brought through a time machine into a Japanese island in 1944. It will launch on Kickstarter on June 15.
In Dinosaur 1944 your team of soldiers lands on Kyoryu Jima to discover that the island is infested with dinosaurs as a result of evil scientific experiments. The game comes with a map book that gives you different map tile configurations to play on. On each round, you first spawn dinos on the map. Then, if you had placed ambush traps in the previous rounds, they go off. Any surviving dinosaurs attack you. Your heroes fight back, move, and set ambushes. To attack the dinosaurs, you roll dice and hope to match the enemies' defense. When dinosaurs are killed, you gain skulls - used as currency in the game.
Each hero has unique abilities, and as the game progresses, dinosaurs multiply and get tougher. To win, you have to take out the dinosaur boss.

It looks like a fun game, yes! But... invest in this or the 3D tiles for Terraforming Mars?
Damn it. I have to admit this looks pretty cool and I do love me some dinos. I will have to take a look at this when it launches.
