Clinic Deluxe Edition: Covid-19 is live (Covid Clinic)

Update: The Covid-19 expansion for Clinic: Deluxe Edition is live on Kickstarter, and the campaign will run for 40 days. You may pledge for just this expansion or get the Clinic games bundle.

Our preview post below was published on April 19.

The 1-4 player economic game Clinic: Deluxe Edition is about to receive a cooperative expansion about fighting Covid-19. The campaign will launch on Kickstarter on April 21, and part of the profits will go to Pasteur Institute and Jonas Salk Institute for Biological Studies.

The expansion is meant to be added to the base game (you place the Contagion board next to the main board), and players win if the cured Covid-19 patients are more than the dead ones. To play the game, you first set the Contagion and Self-Isolation levels: low contagion and good self-isolation is the easy mode.

Then, during the action phase, after three actions have been performed (eg. Build or Hire), you must distribute infections: at least one doctor, nurse, patient or orderly will get sick. If it is a doctor, they are turned into a patient and have to be treated. If it is an elder, they die. If it is a nurse or orderly, they immediately enter quarantine for a fortnight. All employees must be paid normally. In the Contagion phase, depending on the contagion level, you must place a Covid-19 tile in the pre-admission space. The next admitted patient automatically contracts the disease.

If you play solo, you win if, at the end of the game, there are at least 20 patient cubes on the Contagion board and the patients who survived Covid-19 are more than those who did not.
