Castles of Mad King Ludwig Collector's Edition is live (Castles of Mad proportions)

Update: Castles of Mad King Ludwig: Collector's Edition is live on Kickstarter and the campaign will run for 30 days. There are 3 pledge options: Collector includes the base game, all expansions, GameTrayz, and tower minis. Royal includes all the aforementioned items plus metal coins, poker chips and plastic tokens. Colossal includes everything in the Royal level plus extra mega-room tiles.

Castles of Mad King Ludwig: Collector's Edition is a deluxe version of the 1-4 player drafting and tile laying game Castles of Mad King Ludwig. It will launch on Kickstarter on January 19.

This new edition of the game will offer:


a) Updated artwork


b) New room tiles and King's favors tokens


c) Two new expansions: Towers and Royal Decrees. The Towers expansion adds a new room size and pre-painted miniature towers to match the 8 new room types. Royal Decrees introduce asymmetric play with different starting ability cards.


d) Game storage trays by GameTrayz


e) Swan player markers


f) Dual-sided, recessed scoreboard


g) Support for a 5th player

And that's not all. If you choose the Royal pledge tier, you will also receive metal coins, poker chip favor tokens and round plastic swan tokens. And if you happen to live in a mansion and have a king size table, you can opt for the Colossal edition that offers tiles 4 times larger than normal.

Colossal Edition? Wow. Guess they wanted to "1-up" the Big Box editions - or maybe "4-up" in this case. Colossal is quite a jump from Big. "Why are you moving?" "I need a bigger house to store my game collection."


Pre-painted minis? That's nice. Do you know how large those building components are, Athena?
