Roll Camera! is live (Blockbuster or bust)

Update: Roll Camera! The Filmmaking Board Game is live on Kickstarter and the campaign will run for 27 days. Besides the PnP, you may pledge for a copy of the game, or pay more to see a bean version of yourself on a movie scene card. The 'executive producer' tier also gets you one of the first physical prototypes.

Our preview post below was published on July 10.

Roll Camera! The Filmmaking Board Game is a 1-4 player cooperative dice placement game about a struggling film production company. It will launch on Kickstarter on July 14.

In Roll Camera! you are managing a film crew while being low on budget and behind in time. You have to make a successful film, otherwise your company will shut down. On each round, you first reveal a Problem card: this may cause extra expenses, block spaces, and generally limit your actions. Then, you roll the Crew dice, and assign them to actions either on the main board or your player board.

Some spaces require a specific type or number of dice to trigger them. These actions are: Solve a Problem, Place Crew on Set, Build a Set, Get an Intern, Hold a Production Meeting, and Shoot a Scene. When you place Crew dice, you may lock them there for subsequent turns.

At the end of the round, the Schedule marker goes down. If either the Budget or the Schedule markers go to the bottom, you lose the game. You also lose if the Quality marker is in the red zone. Otherwise, after you have shot 5 scenes, you win.
