Our preview post below was published on October 30.

Tranquility is a 1-5 player cooperative abstract strategy game in the vein of The Mind, The Game, and similar games that demand that people play them in silence.

The charming illustrations on the cards depict landscapes: daytime in the upper half, nighttime in the bottom half. Your goal is to fill a 6x6 grid with cards in ascending numerical order, from 1 to 80. On your turn, you either play a card from your hand or discard two cards if you don't have anything to play. When a card is placed next to another, the player must discard cards equal to their difference in value.

The solo mode obviously misses the frustrated looks from other players, when they expect you to place a card and you don't. The game becomes instead a plain numerical puzzle. It does come with extra modules, however (a Monster that eats cards, and a Storm that limits your options), meant to add variety and complexity.

Tranquility is planned to launch on Kickstarter on November 2.
