    The Phantom: The Card Game

    in Your Latest Purchase

Latest arrival. Somewhat interesting was that I received an Email at 3:55am today saying this had been shipped. I received it at 11:15am on the same day (Sunday). It's 1-2 Players.

I never got into the comics, but for no particular reason. The Phantom always intrigued me. Mike, we definitely need your take on the game! 😁 Please!!!???...

Oh, I didn't get that you had actually ordered it! I thought it was one of your usual "here is a cool game" post! In which case, I sure hope you'll enjoy it, and I'll be waiting too for your feedback on it!!!

Otay. I'll gladly move it to the front of the queue, Derek. 🙂

Hey, Europeans, do you know the origins of "otay"? You always know way more about America than I do about Europe. (Shit, you usually know more about America than I do. 😄) If you don't, read on (if interested).

Buckwheat, a character from The Little Rascals used to say "Otay" (for okay). Then Eddie Murphy said it on Saturday Night Live, when he portrayed Buckwheat.

I found the thread in which Athena discussed it. Keywords: dry and boring.

Uh-oh. FWIW, Mike from One Stop Co-Op Shop liked it. Under 5-min review here.

@Cadet Stimpy ok, cool. Checking it out now. I may still pick it up if able. I just always glanced over the comics (in the sunday times) because I really was so far behind story-wise that I felt it wasn’t worth the effort.

Have fun, Stimpy. I was very close to backing it, like Zerbique. The only reason I decided not to was because I could never get into the comics.

I'm unfamiliar with the Comic, so that didn't play into it for me. I'm only assuming, but The Phantom doesn't have any 'powers', right? He's just a bad-ass, like Batman?

@Cadet Stimpy Yes apparently he is like Batman. No real superpowers and he depends more on his fearsome appearance and reputation to deter enemies. If there are any die-hard fans here feel free to chime in…

This game looked nice, and I remember hesitating about backing it or not. But Athena gave me good arguments to reconsider at the time. I can't remember which!
