    Card Tactics and Paperbag Dungeon

    in Your Latest Purchase

Well, I almost received Card Tactics and Paperbag Dungeon today. I got an Email from the Post Office saying the package had been delivered to my mailbox. I walked down there to get it (and my regular mail), but there's no package. Those fucks put the key to the locker in the wrong mailbox again, so some unknown asshole now owns the games I paid for. We'll see if that person brings them to the rightful owner (me), but I'm not gonna hold my breath on that one. Last time this happened no one gave me my package back. People (not all, but way too many) are fucking assholes. I've had packages of a neighbor delivered to me, and I brought the stuff to 'em. One time it was a pretty cool RC (Remote Controlled) vehicle, but I'm no thief (plenty of other things, but not a thief). Anyway, enough of my whining. Maybe something good will happen to me later, but I'm not holding my breath for that, either. 😄

Now I got mine - I tried the "chill" mode and it was fun, if a bit rough around the edges! So far I'm glad I got it. Let's see the more complex modes.

I hope you'll be able to get your copy back somehow.

Thanks. As it turned out, the package appeared a few days after it was supposed to have been delivered, with no explanation from the Post Office. But, I'm happy with the outcome - I have the package without having to file a claim, etc.

Can you play Paperbag Dungeon on the train, or does it spread-out too much?

I hope you get your package back!

I also ordered Paperbag Dungeon and it arrived earlier this week at the customs office here in Belgium. It would be nice to hear what your opinion is on the game.

@Zerbique LOL! I shouldn't laugh at your misery, but the number of annoying scenarios is kinda comical. 'Course, I wouldn't be laughin' if it were happening to me. Your Post Office employees don't care about you? Well, we have that in common. Our Post Office is an agency of the government, so that says it all. 🙁

@Cadet Stimpy Hey, Post Office employees not caring is the best thing that happened to me: I saved 35€ because they just neglected to ask me paying the customs fees!

Actually, when the regular, government-owned post was in charge of the delivery, things were pretty smooth and decent. You receive a mail asking you to pay for VAT; if you do it on time you won't be charged any "processing fee", otherwise you're charged a small amount like 5€ on top of the VAT (to be compared with 15€ as charged by FedEx, UPS, etc.).

I wish all packages were delivered through regular government-owned postal service. It's the best in the market!

(I also had a case were the company "attempted a delivery" and "I wasn't there" (a day where I was at home all day), so the package got returned to the sender and I had to pay for the shipping fees twice. That was DHL.)

Personal ranking: regular mail > GLS > DHL > UPS > FedEx.

FedEx is the one with a package not delivered because my address is "incorrect", then they sent me an invoice for VAT + processing fee + VAT on the processing fee (sent to my "incorrect" address, obviously) with a threat of prosecution if I weren't paying in the 10 days.

@Zerbique Here, large, private companies generally try harder and do better than government agencies, since they have to earn their own money and compete with others, whereas the parasitic government agencies use taxpayer dollars to pay for their stuff. I'm actually satisfied with the USPS (United States Postal Service) the majority of the time, though. Interestingly, the USPS is the second-largest employer in the United States after Walmart. Speakin' of Walmart, it surprises me Europe (except for the UK, I think) doesn't have any. Even Africa has 'em.
