Sadly for Outlive if you live outside of North America the expansion (in English) is almost impossible to get hold of in retail. I managed to get one direct from the publisher in France thankfully, so didn't have to pay too much extra for it!
Hey JW. Yes they are but I would rather learn to play the game along with the expansion anyway as it seems more appealing to me. Sometimes I like the idea of “completing” a game and purchasing an expansion or two especially if there are no immediate plans by the creator to expand the game further. Plus... as a gamer why not pay up first then worry about it later.. 😉 Who ever said this hobby was expensive??
I'm like that as well. When I buy a game, I buy all of it, with all expansions available. Because if it turns out I really like the game, and then want badly the expansions, and they turned OOP reaching crazy prices on the second-hand market... Then I'm frustrated. Besides, expansions are easy to sell in my experience.
So unless the game is a LCG, I'll get all expansions (e.g. I have everything Elder Sign and have yet to play a single game).
Hey Zerbique, I know you are not a fan of influencers, but check this video out. At 15:00 Mike Dilisio gives a pretty good summary as to why he thinks Outlive is one if his top 10 solo games. The reason I found this interesting was because it was a relatively unknown game that flew under the radar instead of the usual “Spirit Island!!! Mage Knight!! Gloomhaven!!!“ I am often interested in the underdog rather than the titles that everyone is talking about (even though sometimes they are right. Spirit Island was a blast!)

Cool! I have the Kickstarter edition and like it a lot. Let us know what you think.
Aren't the solo rules available for download?

Never heard about this one! But it does look nice -Coimbra has a knack for stunning, dynamic visuals I think.
Apparently people are enthusiastic about the expansion.
