After my post about my nature games earlier today, it seemed logical to decide to battle Fire Dragons after dinner tonight, right??
So off I went on my adventure to seal the Shadowrifts and protect the town from the onslaught of Fire Dragons!!
The town was fairly quiet at first.... a little too quiet...
But I was feeling good. A hero always stays on his/her toes, especially when Fire Dragons are waiting to come through the Shadowrifts and attack our town!!
We had a few 'not so nice' travellers make their way into town at times tonight, but I was dealing with them pretty well for the most part. Here I "bamboozled" this robber right the heck out of town!!
So again, as the town's hero I was doing ok. The villagers were a help as always too.
Then..... ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE!!
This pic was taken before the Fire Dragons burned up my camera (those jerks!). Three fire dragons came through the Shadowrift, plus one in the Monster Power Area. Things were really heating up... 😋
Fast forward a bit later, and I was sure I was done for. Corpses were totally piling up in town, I was taking a serious beating and full of wounds and burns, and all monster slots had Fire Dragons!! Plus two were hanging out in the Monster Power Area.
It was awful!!
Granted, I had closed one Shadowrift early (you need to seal two in solo mode as one of the victory conditions). But I was really becoming weak and I was sure the end was in the next turn or two. I kept hanging on by a thread, making little decisions that I figured wouldn't make much difference.
THEN IT HAPPENED....
The second Shadowrift was revealed!!
A couple turns later, I'm still (barely) alive and fighting with what little I have left. BUT THEN, on probably my last possible effort ....
TWO SEALS WERE IN MY HAND!!!
The second Shadowrift closed and the Fire Dragons were defeated!!!!
I've now played a total of 6-games vs the Fire Dragons and I've now won 50%. 😎
After all that fighting, wounds, burns and absolute chaos... I'll calm it down with a little solo fan-variant of Arboretum before bed. 🌳
