    Breaking news from WW1

    in Now Playing

Yes, I know, it sounds like I'm over a hundred years late. It's more like over 30 plays late though.

In Wipers Salient you try to survive the Ypres trenches during the first World War. It's a print and play deckbuilder with great period artwork, that plays very thematic. A year ago, after 20 plays I thought it was very random. Even though losing because of running out of health or morale felt fitting. I wrote about the game on this site:

    Deckbuilding in Flanders Fields

But today, getting close to 40 plays, I suddenly discovered a new strategy! And I manage to have a lot more grip on the situation now. That felt really good. This game has always been a favourite of mine, but now I enjoyed playing it even more.

I am not really sure if my win ratio has improved, but the losses were hard-fought. Recommended.
