Sashimono is a tactical card game set in Japan, Sengoku period (think Sekigahara). You put cards in a 3x3 grid to achieve small "puzzles" that will grant you victory. The game is available on the Game Crafter.

Plaka, a game about managing a Clothes Store in Athens to attract the most tourists! Just pluck these fools out of their money with clever worker placement and business wits! To be kickstarted at some point.

Never tired of more Batman batness? But what about playing the bad guys for once? Then rejoice: Escape From Arkham Asylum, a semi-cooperative dungeon crawler, brings you just that. Just beat this pesky masked man for once. Likely a Kickstarter.

In Terraternity you must save the planet by undertaking dexterity challenges! Keep the globes balanced as CO2 cubes are stacking upon it! To be kickstarted as well.

Do you want a bit of conversation trigger with your friends? Or yourself, because it's a solo game? Then play After the last sky, a game about the first Palestinian Intifada. As the Palestinians, attracting UN attention about human rights infringement should be victory enough; as Israel, you must strangle the resistance by deploying in full your intelligence network.

Aren't you growing tired of this planet, with wars and global change? Why not take some well-deserved vacation in space? Or better, why not make profit with people taking vacation in space? Build structures, draft tourists, make money and shower in riches in Last Resort!

Of course, you may also start closer with the colonization of the Moon, for the profit of giant corporations who are running short of new markets to swallow. Enroll to Project Luna and go make that useless piece of rock a better place!

Know, though, that the Dark Lords of the universe are laughing at you: haven't you been sold a giant, over-expensive big box final edition already far too full of contents for the game mechanics to sustain in the last Kickstarter campaign for Enchanters? Well, too bad, a new expansion has just been foreshadowed by this fresh BGG entry!

News about Enchanters: Darklands (and not Darklords as I stupidly wrote in the post): the game won't be KS, it's already live as a pre-order on Mythic Games website. I didn't know they were doing this kind of things. This seems to be a Halloween-marketed event.

    Z, I couldn't find Sashimono on Game Crafter. 🤔

I found Sashimono. I don't know why the Search didn't find it, but there it was, in the Crowd Sales section.

Haha, I can picture the theme quite easily! As it is a competitive game, I'll likely skip, but I'll take a look of course.

Here is a picture of a set-up game for one of the solo mode (actually co-operative), the "Overlord" mode. You have two play two-handed, as can be seen here.

I had taken this photo for a lounge post I think I never end up writing. I played two or three times, but I don't think I finished any single game. It felt... very long and repetitive.

This is a drafting card at its core. Each turn, you draft one card from the central display. The leftmost one is free, the others have a crystal cost (pictured below them). Cards are either weapons (to stack on your weapon slot), enchantments (to stack on your enchantment slot) or monsters you can attempt to defeat (and you need to beat them to clear the display). Sometimes instead of drafting you may attack the Overlord instead, who is rather passive but beefs up the monsters.

I truly think the game would be better multiplayer. It was designed as such, the Overboss mode being a later feature.

That said, even though it may be a nice multiplayer game with dynamic drafting, I don't think the game truly support the gargantuan amount of contents it received. Besides, the box is a monster in itself. It's about twice the size of Apex Theropod, for about the same quantity of cards.

I quickly realized that there was no way to justify such a behemoth for such a light, casual game. So I sold it with minimal loss (actually I sent it to Ireland!).
