Now that a new Kickstarter by Dan Verssen Games launches this Tuesday, I decided to be proactive and start answering the questions we always get. 1. How many campaigns are unfulfilled at the moment? Air Leader Expansions: (partly?) unfulfilled outside of the USA. I didn't receive it yet. Zero Leader (at the printer) Soldiers in Postmen's Uniforms (at the printer) Warfighter Fantasy (in development) 2. Isn't that a problem for Kickstarter? No. 2. Doesn't DVG always lie about the delivery date? No. They project an optimistic planning. Most of the time there are setbacks. Like with every KS campaign it's safe to add four months to the delivery date. I'd consider it better project management if some buffer was added upfront, but I don't think they are intentionally misleading you. With the last few projects, each one was delayed for a different reason, and it was communicated to the backers. 3. Aren't they just using Kickstarter as a preorder system? Sort of. But it's entirely possible it would be hard for the company to survive without the attention Kickstarter generates, and the guaranteed income a campaign supplies. During most Warfighter campaigns some packs are added during the campaign as stretch goals or extra options. Anyway, whatever Kickstarter pretends, it's just another shop. 4. Why should I support DVG? No obligations here 🙂 You would support a family business that designs and publishes not too complex solitaire wargames. 5. Will you back? If I can afford it, I will. For Europeans most of the time there's only a real discount if you go for a higher pledge or add other games in the Pledge Manager. So I'm probably in once every three campaigns.
