    How did I miss these details???

    Ok - I really can't figure out how I missed the details on this expansion, but it's official:

    Without question I will be purchasing the Rise of Fenris expansion for Scythe in the very near future!

    I knew it was a campaign based expansion, I knew people rated it high, I knew it gave you surprises along the way that you can then incorporate into your normal games of Scythe. But then, over a year after purchasing my Scythe base game I read some details on the BGG forum that made me go to Stonemaier's site for further investigation, and this is what I read about the expansion;

    "Campaign (8 games): The story of Scythe continues and concludes with an 8-episode campaign. While the campaign includes surprises, unlocks, and persistent elements, it is fully resettable and replayable.

    *Replayability is a very important factor for me....

    Modular (11 modules): Instead of—or after—the campaign, the new modules in The Rise of Fenris can be used in various combinations to cater to player preferences. These modules are compatible with all Scythe expansions, and they include a fully cooperative module that isn’t part of the competitive campaign."

    As if that's not enough... Then I read:

    "While the exact nature of the episodes and modules will remain a mystery (most of these components are in 5 secret tuckboxes and on 6 punchboards), the components in this expansion include a detailed episodic guidebook, 13 plastic miniatures, 62 wooden tokens, 2 custom dice, 25 tiles, 100+ cardboard tokens, a campaign log, and 1 achievement sheet."

    That's a lot of additional components!!! 😃 How did I possibly not see these details before!!?!?!!?!

    AND THEN to add to the excitement...

    Scrolling down through the comments, Jamey Stagmaier mentions "Desolation Mode" in the Rise of Fenris book, that is a rule set for cooperative play. OMG!!!!! That may entice at least my 12-year old to play more with me!

    I guess it's time to get my credit card topped up because it's going to be used very soon! LOL

    I can't wait to get this! My only theory in missing these details is I knew there can be spoilers with Rise of Fenris, so maybe I avoided delving into anything about the expansion for that reason??? I don't know...

    For sure. I can say with confidence now (even before I get it), I could see it helping with some of the intimidation factor that some feel when they first play.
